About the designer 🐞 My views on how to approach design work: I’m writing and posting this all because I believe Graphic Design work is a lot more personal than it’s led to believe. For the majority of businesses owners that is their baby you are working with! So when working with brands or helping people discover their brand design the roll that’s played is more of a “coach” or “counselor”. Helping people communicate what their business baby is I believe is a creative and business form of care work. I believe the design processes and work is to care for the client, their workers and their impact on communities. This is done through solving problems, building relationships, or creating conversations through design and care. After studying Graphic Design at both SVC and LCAD, I’ve found the most crucial part of a project is the ability to get outside. Graphic Design isn’t art, but it is still a creative process of communication. If you rush communication, that can lead to some big misunderstandings. Now, if you take your time, it can create the conversations you wish for and lasting relationships with your people. Mini about: I grew up making fake party invites in first through fourth grade on Microsoft Word. Back then, WordArt was my favorite thing to play with after school. Little did I know that was a career path until ninth grade. I immediately took classes at SVC in eleventh grade for graphic design. I built up a portfolio after three years to go to LCAD, and I was very grateful for another three years I had there. Outside of college I was a category winner of a Microsoft Surface contest, and it felt like a very full circle moment. At the moment, I am open for some freelance work. 💌 Contact info is in these photos and the link in the bio Cheers 🍻 *disclaimer slides labeled concept were college projects. Model photo reference that my design works are displayed on are not my photos. Little characters around me in slide 1-2 are interests that inspire me or have grown up with. They represent my personality not works I’ve done. The mini images of floating creatures to my knowledge are not copyrighted and are free use & are mass internet memes.*

For this effect I created putty brushes by hand and made the album art using only the putty brushes. It was really fun experimenting with putty that I later used putty for my hand type project. That project is a couple posts down with the clear rainbow lettering.

All sides of the helmet for the contest edit: more info is on the previous post ☻︎

☺︎︎ This submission won 🥇 in this category and was made into a physical product. See the story in bio on it for more. . This is my submission for the custom @araiamericas racing helmet contest #OriginalByDesignContest Contest posted by: @colletedavis | @surface | @araiamericas Had a lot of fun playing with movement along with bold colors. I have synesthesia and thought it would be exiting to play with how the speed and thrill would look as if it was something as sounds are to myself and others. With that in mind I wanted to create a strong and exhilarating helmet that would be cool with or without the option of stickers.

Mozart Requiem Poster “As death, when we come to consider it closely, is the true goal of our existence, I have formed during the last few years such close relationships with this best and truest friend of mankind that death's image is not only no longer terrifying to me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling.” -Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Hand made the stained glass on plexiglass using glass paint. Most of the colored paint was added to the back of plexiglass. This was to crate the illusion of thick stained glass windows of an old church. Then the photo was taken in a bathroom while hot water was running. . The shape resembles an hourglass that is completely full as the time is stopped and done when ones dies along with this song being timeless.

Mozart created Requiem as he knew his time was almost up on Earth and was to be played at his funeral. This quote from the movie about his life is a peak into this song “As death, when we come to consider it closely, is the true goal of our existence, I have formed during the last few years such close relationships with this best and truest friend of mankind that death's image is not only no longer terrifying to me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling.” -Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
